Robert Banks, Jr. 
Filmmaker

Robert Banks is the rare sort of artist who has been exploring his craft since early childhood. A Cleveland native, he first hit the international stage in 1992, receiving critical acclaim for his film X: The Baby Cinema. His abstract, interpretive films have been featured at Sundance, SXSW and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Banks was an honored guest filmmaker at the BBC British Short Film Festival in 2000, and received the prestigious title of Filmmaker of the Year at the Midwest Filmmakers Conference in 2001. After 25 years in the business, Banks recently completed his first feature-length narrative film, Paper Shadows.

Jordan Charles
Architectural Graphic Novelist

Jordan Charles is a comic enthusiast and designer whose primary interests revolve around the configuration of public realms and the organization of activity. More specifically, investigations of spontaneous/flexible activity have been a driving focus for Charles as he utilizes comics as a medium for research, exploration and a means to deliver ideas. He has compressed many of his questions, ideas and beliefs into his graphic novel titled Urban Proxy. Supplementary volumes of the graphic novel are planned to further explore relationships between varying public realms/built environments and organized activity.

Jamal Collins 
Communication Design Instructor | Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland

Jamal Collins is a creative leader who launched a Graphic Design program through the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland. He helps youth produce visual solutions to communicate through concept development, layout compositions, color theory, and typography. Collins is a graduate of Akron University and has 20 years of graphic design experience.

Jason T. Minter 
Real Estate Development Specialist | Burten Bell Carr Development

Jason T. Minter was introduced to public interest and thinking about the built environment at the same time during an AmeriCorps year with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro, NC. Since then, he has pursued a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Masters of Architecture from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Texas A&M University, respectively. Minter has also received certificates in Sustainable Urbanism and Economic Development Finance. Minter has practiced in small design focused architectural firms: AT103 in Mexico City, and HA Architecture in Austin, TX. Currently Jason is expanding his capacity in entrepreneurialism through opening Connie’s Affogato, a bike-powered ice cream and coffee shop.

TyJuan Swanson
Undergraduate Architecture Student | Kent State University

Raised in Euclid, Ohio, TyJuan Swanson started attending the Cleveland School of Architecture and Design at John Hay High School in 2010. Upon high school graduation, TyJuan was awarded a college scholarship from the Ace Mentor Program. He is currently enrolled in Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a Minor in Business.

Jacinda Walker
Designer, Entrepreneur, and Instructor

Jacinda is pursuing a MFA at The Ohio State University in Design Research & Development with a Nonprofit Studies minor. Her research explores diversity in design disciplines and investigates strategies to expose African-American & Latino youth to design-related careers. Her future goals are to develop design education programs and resources.
